Mary Hilton, Wife of Officer Matthew Hilton PDF Print E-mail

I came to know about the Thin Blue Line when my husband, Officer Matthew Hilton of Lathrup Village Police Department, was killed in action serving in Afghanistan with the Michigan Army National Guard.

The Thin Blue Line helped me more than I ever thought.  I have worked in law enforcement support for several years and have heard of the TBL but, didn’t know how much they help the law enforcement community.  They provided me with all the information I needed to apply for benefits and also advised me on other information that I was unaware of.

My son was going to have therapy that was in excess of $18,000 for a four week program.  The insurance covered nothing and even though I had saved up the majority of the costs we still fell short by thousands of dollars.  Thin Blue Line of Michigan took care of everything, was prompt, caring and really put me at ease in regard to the financial assistance for my son.  I was shocked when the Thin Blue Line of Michigan stated they would provide $3,000.00 to assist with the therapy.  Not only did we benefit from the financial assistance but also the emotional support as we wanted our son to have the therapy and did not know how we could afford it.
